“Woodworking Business: Start Quickly and Operate Successfully is a must read with practical tips on every aspect of the woodworking trade.
I would recommend this book to anyone in the woodworking profession. The insight within this book will do wonders for your business. It is one of the few books I have read more than once.
This book is a remarkable tool that not only helped me in the beginning; it serves as a reference that I can look back on when I have questions about my business.”

The Woodworking Photo Album
An important aspect of growing any woodworking business is having an album of pictures to show off your work. Until you begin to get referrals from satisfied customers, your project picture album is the only thing you have to show potential customers the quality of your work. Taking good clear pictures of each project you complete for a customer or for your own home will help you get many customers.
It’s best to take pictures of your projects completely installed instead of in your shop with the background of tools and equipment. Let your customers see exactly how the projects would look in their home. Either way, the pictures will reflect the quality of your work but when the project is installed in a home or office it is much easier for the customer to visualize it in their space.
Digital or 35mm camera?
For years I took my pictures with a 35mm camera and had them developed by a lab. Then I started using a digital camera because with a computer and a good color printer I could take the pictures and print them myself. I could also use them in emails for those customers that could be reached by email. These pictures are also easy to place in a web site to form a 24/7 photo album for your prospects to view.
With the popularity of the Internet today, email and the web can play an important role in a woodworking business. So your computer skills can help you to sell your woodworking skills.
